I've found a million nicknames bestowed upon me over the years, and its funny how the simple ones mean the most. "Bagel" by a group of girls I pretend to like, although their naïve nature kills me. "Bae" by Tom's friends, who are basically older more perverted versions of my old friends. "Babe" by my guy friends that I've known since I was a little girl, I've found that I don't talk to them as much, they don't really like what Tom does, and that's quite alright, I try and find personal time for everyone. Just "Bailey" by my two favorite people, Tom and Kaitlin, although, in late night video-calls when no-one is awake enough to hold a thought

Then she tried digging out of depression with razors and starving herself enough to float to the top. And maybe alcohol heals the insides better than cleansing the cuts on the outside, but she really needs both on days like this.

Tom. Tom who smokes weed and has anger issues. Tom who is older. Tom who screams in the moment. Tom who breaks in the aftermath. Tom who is my "boyfriend". Tom who Alex has threatened to slaughter. Tom who was beat. Tom who promises never to hit me. And these are the facts that I hold on to. Tom who loves me. And that is the piece that I cannot claim fact of fiction.
